Story
Seenu (Ram) is a street smart young man who is a menace in his town of Anakapalli. But he fails in graduation. Facing insult from his ‘Maradalu’ (Swathi), he pricks his ego and comes to the city to complete his degree.
Here, he meets Sruthi (Hansika) and falls in love with her. But then, Sruthi is eyed by Bhavani (Sonu Sood) a very dangerous don. Anyone who approaches Sruthi is killed by Bhavani. However, Seenu uses his brain and outsmarts Bhavani to win Sruthi’s love.
The story takes a turn with the even more powerful Rajanna (Jayaprakash Reddy) wanting to kidnap Seenu and get him to his home. Why Rajanna is after Seenu? What does Bhavani do to harm Seenu? Where does all this lead to, forms the rest of the story.
Artists Performance:
Ram is all over the film. His energy levels matched with handsome looks, good dance moves score very well. If he can reduce his imitation of Pawan Kalyan and Ravi Teja and develop his own style, he will rock in bigger way with unique identity.
Hansika looks bubbly as usual but this time she was more contained in her performance. It is time for her to put a check on her shape; she looks voluptuous but very fat.
Aksha looks cute and gives a competent act. The dubbing for her voice with the Telangana slang worked well.
Sonu Sood is superb. His ability to emote comedy, emotion, anger, villainy is commendable. This time, he has shown few dance moves as well. He is a true asset to any film.
Jayaprakash Reddy is usual with strong screen presence and his slang of dialogue delivery. Perhaps he is the best bet for such type of roles.
Raghu Babu brought few smiles, Srinivas Reddy was neat. Brahmi is there for one scene but he was good. Chandramohan was regular, Colours Swathi’s guest role was effective. Phanikanth and Arundhati Aravind made their presence felt. Rest of the padding artistes filled the screen and chipped in wherever required.
Highlights:
Ram’s performance and dance
Dialogues
Screenplay
Comedy
Two songs and background score
Drawbacks:
Dragged second half
Too many cinematic liberties
Storyline gives déjà vu feeling
Final Analysis:
It has always been proved that when the script and screenplay are handled very well and it is packed with good dose of comedy, the Tollywood audience will give thumbs up. When that happens, even flaws and reasoning are sidelined as the entertainment quotient matters. That’s what happened in this movie. With the right kind of comedy and timing of dialogues, the director has given a packed entertainer.
Though he has followed the Srinu Vytla formula, what matter is there is no idle moment and the film takes the audience through a breezy treat. Good technical values are another advantage that worked in this film’s favor.
It is obvious that the films like Vinodam, Ready, Brindavanam, Mirapakaya, Mr Perfect and many such kind of films flash on mind’s screen at the end of the film. But still, this film has got its unique entertainment value. The energy levels of Ram need ample appreciation here. He is one of the rare heroes who keep the audience stick on to seats despite no story in the film. But this film has got good story line, well written screenplay and dialogue and good pace. So Ram’s value added for the film fully.
Overall, the film has sufficient dose of mass, class and family elements. Success at box office looks inevitable. As the film ‘Dhada’ that released yesterday received negative talk and as there is no big film release for a few weeks, ‘Kandireega’ enjoys full meals at box office.
